EXEMPTION FROM THE WATER CONSERVATION ORDINANCE

Instructions for Requesting an Exemption (or Variance) From the Water Conservation Ordinance

Because the City of Dallas recognizes that the Water Conservation Ordinance restrictions may impose undue hardship to some users, requests for exemptions (variances) will be considered. All information is required to be completed unless it is not applicable to the situation.

Step 1 – The two-page form to which these instructions apply should be completed in full for Parts A, B, and C.

Step 2 – Submit application to Conservation Division. (See submittal instructions below)

Step 3 – Upon application approval, sign Compliance Agreement (to be provided by conservation staff) and return. Upon receipt of signed Compliance Agreement, an approval packet will be mailed to you.

Please allow a minimum of three (3) business days for review of this application after the Water Conservation Division receives it. All decisions of the Conservation Division may be appealed in writing to the Assistant Director of Water Operations, Attn: Water Conservation Ordinance Variance Appeal, 1500 Marilla St., Room 4AN, Dallas, TX 75201.
